Basic Jewellery Design Course
During the Basic Jewellery Design Course you will step by step learn how to execute the basic techniques of goldsmithing. I have written a handbook for this course and this includes instructions on how to make a ring from a brass plate. While executing this basic assignment you will learn among other things how to use a caliper (gauge), and how to mark, file, saw and solder.
Upon completion of the basic assignment, you can continue with a design of your own, using silver as your metal of choice. We will discuss what materials you will need to make your piece of jewellery as well as the techniques that you can apply. Most students decide to make a pendant, a ring or earrings made of silver. If you want, I can teach you how to include a precious stone in your design and what it takes to make a bezel setting for the stone.
